Reflection

Reflection #2

3/11/2015

What did I learn from the process of updating this ePortfolio?
  • At the beginning of the first semester, I felt like I would never fill up my eportfolio! Now, there is so much I was able to add and I know there are more things in the works.  I think it is great to have a place to keep all my achievements and activities, but also my personality and interests. For future fieldwork supervisors, employers, and maybe even patients, it will be great to share who I am and what I have accomplished.
How have I used my ePortfolio thus far? How might I use my ePortfolio in the future?
  • I haven't really used this a ton, yet. However, I plan on sending it to future fieldwork supervisors and employers.  I think it could also be helpful to have on a business card, resume, or presentations I might give. As much as it makes me cringe, I believe networking is a crucial part of advocating for yourself as a professional, but also for your profession.  Online networking is important as well and the ePortfolio is a simple way to put myself out there.
What experience or artifacts am I still missing that I’d like to be able to add to my ePortfolio?
  • I will be participating in the MHA program, the Diabetes clinic, and hopefully many more opportunities through Pacific.
What are my current thoughts regarding my future doctoral internship and capstone project?  (Very preliminary with no commitment at this point as you’ll have most of next year for exploration before fine tuning your thoughts)
  • I am very interested in doing something related to Primary Care or Coordinated Care.  I am not sure exactly what or how I'll do it, but I have been talking to faculty and doing some [minor] research.  As a part of the MHA program I'll do and internship and/or a research project and I am hoping to set up the projects for both degrees to build on one another.
