Level ID Fieldwork at Pacific University is a sixteen week, part-time (4 hours/1 day/week) experience in select settings in which services are primarily provided to the older adult or pediatric population. Experiences from Level ID are integrated into course content in order to use “real life” examples for application of key theoretical concepts while bridging classroom to practice experiences for older adult clients and promoting higher levels of critical reasoning. My Experience
For my level ID fieldwork experiences, I worked at Rosewood Park, a retirement and assisted living facility, and at Providence St. Vincent in acute care. This was a very interesting semester for me and it stimulated in me an interesting in healthy aging and in working with physical disabilities. Throughout my time at Rosewood Park, I worked with other students to run activity groups, complete assessments, and explore the continuum of care at the facility, which includes memory care. In the acute care setting, I gained a deeper understanding of documentation within a hospital setting and relevant considerations for practitioners working in this setting.
